Lung function in adolescence is a powerful marker of overall health during adulthood and has been associated with the incidence of respiratory, cardiovascular, and metabolic comorbidities in later life [1]. To improve early intervention, identifying risk factors that may predispose children and adolescents towards poor lung function is urgently needed.
