Extract
COPD is caused by the inhalation of noxious particles, commonly from cigarette smoking [1]. Smoking cessation is an important part of COPD management. Electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) are used by COPD patients to facilitate cigarette smoking cessation [2]. E-cigarettes contain multiple chemicals that can cause inflammation and toxicity [3]. The potential harm caused by long term e-cigarette use in COPD patients is unknown.
