Park et al. 1 found that 81% of patients with fibrotic NSIP had improved or stable lung function over time after initial treatment. Specifically, the authors showed an increase in the percentage of patients with an improvement in forced vital capacity and diffusing capacity of the lung for carbon monoxide over time, as well as an increase in the magnitude of change in observed lung function.
